Goals for 2009 2009 Will be my first year concentrating on 70.3 and Non Drafting racing, which represents a large step up in distance, and a shift in focus of my training. Hopefully, this new market will play more to my strengths, and allow me to use the swim and bike sections to my advantage, as opposed to drafting races where sometimes the swim and bike sometimes become irrelevant! My main aim for the year is to get to Clearwater 70.3 World Championships in Novemeber, and have a crack at the Lifetime Fitness series in the US during the summer. I will also hit a couple of other 70.3's possibly in the states, and hit 70.3 UK in June. I will also race the French Grand Prix series for Vendome this year, and possibly look to hit some of the big domestic races in the UK, like London and the National Championships. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -Goals for 2008 In 2008 I have yet to set myself rigid performance goals, as I don’t know exactly which races I will be doing yet. However, I have planned to take part in the South African Championships on the 16th February, and then hit another couple of races somewhere in the world in April. Hopefully I will make the team for World U23 Championships, and it would be great to have a good race there, but I also want to broaden my horizons and venture into some 70.3, Non-Drafting, and possibly some X-Terra racing...... so I guess until I know more about what I’m up to its watch this space I’m afraid ;-) - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Goals for 2007 My major goals for 2007 are:
These are the performance measures I set with my coach and the BTF at my review in November 2006 to chart my progress to a professional triathlete. The early season hasn't really gone according to plan for me this year, so I am now playing catch up to where I need to be. My focus of the season has now moved onto the World Champs, in Hamburg on the 31st July - where I am focussed on a top 10 finish. As for the races in the mean time, I will race the Europeans as a domestiqué, so we'll have to see what I'm capable of running myself there. I am also determined to put in strong performances in the FGP series, and would like to race a few European Cup races for myself, to see what kind of performances I can pull out. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - |
